In a shocking incident in Alipurduar, West Bengal, a man has been arrested for allegedly selling his wife and four-year-old son. The accused, Noor Hussain was apprehended by the Falakata police following a complaint lodged by the in-laws.
According to police sources, Noor Hussain, a resident of Umacharanpur area had been married for 11 years, and has a daughter and two sons. On June 25, Noor Hussain left for Delhi with his wife and four-year-old son, leaving their other children behind.
Upon returning home after five days, Noor Hussain was questioned about the whereabouts of his wife and son, but he failed to provide a clear answer. The news of their disappearance quickly spread throughout the village, and it eventually reached the attention of Noor's father.
Growing suspicious of Noor Hussain's involvement, her family members repeatedly questioned him, but he remained silent. There had been ongoing disputes between the couple over financial matters, leading the family to suspect that Noor Hussain may have sold his wife and son for personal gain.
Following a written complaint filed by Noor's father, Akbar Ali, at the Falakata police station, a case was registered against Noor Hussain for domestic violence and human trafficking. He was subsequently arrested from his residence.
The police have initiated an investigation to determine the fate of Noor and her son. It is unclear whether Noor Hussain may have harmed them or sold them elsewhere. During interrogation, Noor Hussain admitted to selling his wife and child for Rs 50,000.The accused has been remanded in police custody for 14 days by the Additional District Dera Court of Alipurduar. The authorities aim to ensure the safety of the missing woman and child and conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.
Samit Chakraborty, the Investigating Officer of Falakata Police Station, confirmed that a written complaint had been received, and necessary legal action had been taken. The police are working diligently to locate the missing woman and child.
